Unique, two-tone cowling
In keeping with the F4, F5 and F6's unique nature, they have a distinctive two-tone body colour, with a white top cowling. It's a refreshingly light colour scheme, and one that reflects the character of these compact and portable engines, and the fun and adventure they offer.
Auxiliary prime pump
A small auxiliary prime pump is fitted to the fuel pipe before the carburettor in the cowling. By ensuring the delivery of fuel to the carburettor, the engine can be started smoothly even after long-term storage.
Easy to carry
When you want to get out on to the water quickly and easily, portability is important. The F6 are the ultimate in portable power, with a compact build and large carry handles that can be used by one or two people. Carry them to the water, or lift them on to your main boat as an auxiliary and you're away.
Steering friction and throttle adjustment
You'll find the F6 incredibly easy to control, thanks to the single-lever steering friction adjustment. This allows steering and throttle to be easily adjusted when you're out on the water, and ensures that you have great stability and control, even at high speed.
CDI Ignition System
You want the fun to start as soon as you get on to the water and the engine to purr with the minimum of fuss. Yamaha ignition systems are 'solid state' components with no moving parts - a design which allows them to deliver the reliable starting and consistent performance for which Yamaha outboards are renowned across the globe.
Built-in fuel tank
To really get out there, you need to know you've got room for all the necessary gear, whether it's an extra box of bait, or an extra cooler of refreshments. To give you more space inside your boat, the F6 all have a built in 1.1-L fuel tank, eliminating the need for an external tank.
Yamaha's Ideal Anti-corrosion Protection
You need an engine you can rely on. Yamaha outboards are renowned for their durability and how well they hold value. Central to this is the unique YDC-30 aluminium alloy that protects the engine's exterior parts, and a zinc coating, high-quality stainless steel, and 5-stage exterior coating for long-lasting protection inside and out.
3-position oil leak-free storage system
Transporting your engine to and from the water, the last thing you want to have to deal with is a messy oil leak. Yamaha's unique 3-position oil leak-free storage system offers an easy way to store your engine, whether you're carrying it in a boat, a car, or a trailer.
